Izze - Sparkling Blackberry

Izze makes various sodas they label Sparkling Juice. They started out in 2002 with the goal of forming a company that would produce high quality products, and raise awareness for the Global Education Fund. Inspired by European sodas, the two founders began experimenting with various fruit juices trying to find a perfect balance of juice and fizz. After a few months of mixing, they found the balance that they could take to the world. Izze is very aware of the environment we live in today, and invest in earth friendly practices. Their offices are powered by wind, and they use recycled goods in their packaging.

Izze's sparkling juice is made from 70% pure fruit juice and some sparkling water. The Blackberry flavor has juice from apple, white grape, blackberry and raspberry. These flavors mix together to make a great tasting fruit juice with a little bit of fizz. I was pleased to learn that each bottle provides two servings of fruit based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. While  I wouldn't rely on a carbonated beverage for my diet, I will certainly drink it happily knowing that it won't be filling my body with unnatural chemicals.

My first impression was that this tasted very similar to grape juice. It was somewhat tangy, but not overpowering. I had just taken the bottle out of the fridge when I first started drinking this, and the flavor was very tame. However, after it warmed up a bit I was able to really taste the different juices that went in. I must admit that I don't really know what a blackberry tastes like, but I really loved the flavor of this soda.
